"As if by Magic" exhibition opened at the Bethlehem Peace Centre on September 6, 2006. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives from various international agencies and a large number of Palestinian school children and Palestinian artists who travelled from Ramallah to attend the exhibition tour by British art critics Sacha Craddock and Sally O'Reilly. 

26 leading contemporary artists, including Turner Prize winners Damien Hirst, Martin Creed, Wolfgang Tillmans and Douglas Gordon, were asked to produce new work, or adapt existing work, in order to allow it to be produced in the occupied Palestinian territories.
